Correcting your own child.

Sometimes, in practice or in the dugout, young ballplayers will start to horse around or get out of line. They may need to be corrected ( "Hey! cut that out!" ) or made to run laps. If your own child needs to be corrected, ask someone else to do it. It is particularly embarrassing to a young player when his parent corrects him in front of his teammates. It is also demoralizing. It turns what should be a lot of fun into a "hassle." For some reason, when the coach yells at you, it's not as bad.
